These counterfeit bags are often passed off as “refurbished” or “repaired” when presented for authentication, with the hope that any flaws will be overlooked. In reality, they’re simply high-grade replicas with impressively accurate serial number details. While still not flawless, they’re very well made. The same version also exists with embedded microchips, and while I won’t release those details now, I will say this: they’ve replicated the chip data with up to 80% accuracy, and I verify through macro-level inspection. Pretty scary!
I never disclose the main reasons a bag is fake in my reports—I only point out the obvious errors.
In many cases, these scam sellers go a step further by attaching what appears to be internal Chanel system data—attempting to lend legitimacy to their counterfeit and, quite frankly, manipulate my judgment.
Let’s break this down.
What is Chanel internal data?
Internal system screenshots can be accessed by any Chanel Sales Associate (SA) with the right credentials—whether through personal connections or, at times, in exchange for payment. These screenshots typically include:
• A photo of the exact design
• The style code
• The leather type and hardware color
• The shade code and color
When an SA logs into the internal service catalog, they can input the serial number or microchip code. The system retrieves the full spec sheet as if the bag were being submitted for repair or evaluation.
For instance, the following three bags ( you can see them in my pictures) match the Chanel system records perfectly:
• A 21P Mini Rectangular in camel brown lambskin with light gold hardware
• A 19B Medium Classic Flap in burgundy caviar with light gold hardware
• An 18B Medium Classic Flap in grey caviar with light gold hardware
So here’s the bottom line:
Never rely solely on Chanel internal screenshots when making a purchase. Master clones are now built to align with these records down to the smallest detail.
These are just a few examples of the current generation of advanced fakes making their way through the market.
Stay sharp. Stay safe. And remember—if it looks too good to be true, it probably comes with a certificate too!
