LA RUE CAMBON
THE TERRITORY OF COCO CHANEL, LA RUE CAMBON ❤️ The street is named to honor a French Revolutionary and finance committee, Pierre-Joseph Cambon. His father was a wealthy cotton dealer and fabric trader who owned a manufacturer in Paris. Pierre Cambon was well known after he took over the company after his father’s death; what a coincidence, a revolutionary who deals with fabrics! Reminds you of someone? Now You know why Mademoiselle Gabrielle picked this particular street to open her first boutique. She was a revolutionary, and I guess she knows a few things about fabrics, lol. Chanel opened her hat shop ( Modes ) in 1910; the second boutique is the legendary flagship boutique at 31 Rue Cambon, which was opened in 1918. In 2018, exactly 100 years later, Chanel opened the latest location on rue Cambon, number 19. Chanel owns most numbers on that street, between 19–31. You can only get the original Chanel white packaging at these two boutiques (19&31) and nowhere else. Do you know which year these images were captured? You can tell by Chanel display windows!
