Chanel Bag Authentication Photo Guide
Capturing Chanel’s Photographic Journey to Authenticity.
Capturing Chanel’s Photographic Journey to Authenticity.
Here is how we make it a fun journey together 🙏🏻♥️
1. **Heat Stamp**: Capture an image of the Chanel/Made in heat stamp by placing white tissue paper to reflect light on the stamp. This enhances the visibility of the true color of the foil. For instance, place the tissue at an angle where it reflects natural light onto the stamp.
2. **Hardware Shots**: Images of the bag's hardware must be taken without the use of a flashlight on your phone. This allows the true color and condition of the hardware to be clearly seen.
3. **Serial Number Stickers and Hologram Sticker**: Attempt to gently pull out the interior lining of the bag to reveal the serial number stickers before taking the shot. This strategy brings the sticker closer and makes the job easier. If the hologram sticker is in a deep or tight area where the lining can't be lifted, place a small mirror beside it and take the image of the reflection. For instance, you can use a dentist's mirror for this.
4. **Bag Presentation**: Prior to taking pictures, ensure that the bag is well-structured with tissue paper and the background is not cluttered. Always show the bag standing upright from all angles, including the top and bottom.
5. **Woven Chain Stitching**: For bags with a woven chain, provide a clear image of the closing stitch - the final stitch on the leather part of the chain.
6. **Engraving Details**: Close-up shots of any engravings on the hardware are crucial. These shots should always be in focus.
7. **Microchip**: Capture two separate close-ups of the chip, one focusing on the CC and the other on the numbers, along with a full shot of the chip from four different angles. Note that these shots can only be taken using a macro lens attachment on your phone, regardless of your phone's native capabilities.
8. **Turnlock**: If the bag has a turnlock feature, include images of the lock in both the locked and unlocked positions. Also, provide photos of the backplate, the side angle of the male part, and any visible screw attached to it.
9. **Stitching**: Always send a close-up shot of one stitched part from both the outside and the inside of the bag.
10. **Lighting**: Photographs should ideally be taken in daylight or under natural lighting conditions, without any use of a flashlight on any part of the bag. This produces the best results in terms of true color representation for both the hardware and the interior lining.
11. **Sample Photos**: When I provide sample images to guide you on how to capture specific angles or details, it's crucial that you replicate these examples as closely as possible. For instance, if the sample shot is a front-facing image of the bag standing upright, your photo should match that exact orientation and perspective. Images where the bag is reclined or at a laid-back angle will not be suitable substitutes.
12. **Photo Comparisons**: Please note that while your images may appear to be similar to the samples provided, subtle discrepancies might be visible to a trained eye. It's important to trust the authentication process and understand that if I repeatedly request the same image, it signifies either a suspicion regarding a certain detail or an inability to confirm authenticity due to the lack of a clear shot. I can't always articulate what specific detail I'm trying to confirm, but the persistent request is aimed at capturing the precise aspect needed to complete the authentication process.
Be patient and thorough in this process. Do not rush, as the quality of images is essential for accurate authentication.
Please be aware that I am here to provide support throughout each weekday, ensuring our endeavors are successful. However, should you find yourself unable to submit the necessary images despite numerous attempts over several days, I regret to inform you that refunds will not be possible due to the substantial time and effort already devoted to the task. That said, should you wish for me to persist in this work, I would be more than happy to do so.
On a final note, for purchases made via credit card or PayPal, you can remain confident in knowing that should the bag prove inauthentic, I will ensure your funds are returned to you. Do not be anxious about return deadlines. The client/seller agreement operates on the premise of authenticity. If the item is not genuine, then the seller's rules become irrelevant and are void.
