Article: I’m confusion! 🤪

I’m confusion! 🤪

If you don’t own one of these, then I can’t consider you a Chanel lover 😆 the vintage Chanel maxi or jumbo with the oversized CC lock is a must-have in any Chanel collector’s closet! Often buyers get confused with the sizes or how to tell which one is which from the pictures. For the classic quilted pattern on leather, the easiest way to tell the size is by the edge-trimmed stitches around the upper flap and the stitching around the tongue ( where the CC’s clasp sits).

The edge-trimmed one is always the smaller size/ the jumbo. The jumbo will also have a cut middle seam at the bottom ( inside and outside). The jumbo usually comes with puffier quilts than the maxi. It’s the same reason the jumbo can be trimmed stitch since the leather is thicker. The maxi size doesn’t come in caviar for this pattern, the timeless classic quilt.

In comparison, the jumbo size comes in caviar leather. You can see the maxi in caviar (not the 13” inch version, the 14” inch one) in chevron or rarely in vertical pattern quilts, not the classic diamond quilts. If you find a maxi with the classic diamond quilts in caviar, you find a very rare gem 💎
