Fun facts! “The Medium Classic Flap”

The Medium Classic Double Flap is the original size of the 2.55 flap. Later, it was modified and became known as the Classic Double Flap. This is why the Classic Collection is called the 11.12, which is the style code for the Medium Classic Flap (A01112).

Until 2013, the Medium Classic Double Flap was only manufactured in France. After that, the Medium Classic Flap in black was made in both France and Italy, while all other colors continued to be made exclusively in France.

In 1955, the original price was $220. By 1990, the price had increased to a little over $1000.

There is a seasonal version of the Medium Classic Double Flap with the style code A39336. It has the same size, quilting, double flap, and interlaced woven chain as the Classic, but there are a few key differences:

• The CC turn-lock is larger on the seasonal version.
• The stitched CC logo is flat, not puffed out, on the seasonal version.
• The screw heads on the Classic Medium are slotted, while they are round on the seasonal version.
• The quilts on the bottom of the Classic Flap are always flat, whereas they are puffy on the seasonal version.

Make sure to check these details when buying a Medium Classic Flap, as the value of the seasonal versions is not the same as the Classic.

The original hardware of the Medium Classic Double Flap is gold. It is extremely rare to find a vintage Medium Classic Flap with silver hardware.
